生命基礎数理学／数学教室では、統計学・情報科学・応用数学に関連する教育および研究を行っている。現在の主要な研究テーマは以下の通りである。

1. 大規模医療データと地理空間情報（GIS）の統合解析により、患者の受療行動や医療提供体制を定量的に評価し、医療資源の配置と医療アクセスの課題の可視化を行い、その手法を研究している。
2. 生成AIとの対話が人間の思考・推論に与える影響の分析、およびAIを活用した教育手法と倫理的・社会的課題について研究している。
3. 臨床データおよび遺伝子データに基づき、疾患リスク因子の評価と予後予測モデルの構築を研究している。
4. 数値シミュレーションの高精度化・高速化、および構造物・機器の性能向上を目的とした最適化手法を研究している。
