研究内容
細胞再生医学教室は、最近、新設された教室であり、世界で初めて低分子化合物のみで体細胞から神経細胞への直接誘導に成功した。われわれは、この細胞をCiN細胞(chemical compound-induced neuronal cells)と命名し、以下の5点を中心に精力的な研究を行っている。CiN細胞は遺伝子導入を全く必要としない点で画期的であり、ES細胞やiPS細胞とは異なる新たな再生医療技術として、アルツハイマー病や筋萎縮性側索硬化症などの神経変性疾患、脊髄損傷、末梢神経障害、網膜疾患などへの臨床応用が期待される。
  1. 低分子化合物による体細胞から神経細胞:CiN細胞(chemical compound-induced neuronal cells)への直接誘導の分子メカニズムの解明
  2. CiN細胞の遺伝的なキャラクタリゼーション
  3. CiN細胞のin vitroまたはin vivoの機能解析
  4. 低分子化合物による体細胞からのCiN細胞以外の細胞種への誘導法の開発
  5. CiN細胞を用いたアルツハイマー病や筋萎縮性側索硬化症などの神経変性疾患、脊髄損傷、末梢神経障害、網膜疾患などの治療法の開発
