The University Library was established in 1890. It has moved location a couple of times since. The former library, that was finished in 1929, is one of the iconic buildings of our university. The present building was established in 1992 and houses a large collection of books, manuscripts and journals. It furthermore offers the usage of various digital catalogues, access to journals, and a place for study. For more detailed information please see the homepage of the Library (Japanese and English).
The Library can be used by our students, researchers, employees, and people who live or work in Kyoto. The library is open between 9:00 and 21:00 on weekdays, 10:00 and 18:00 on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays and National Holidays. For more detailed information on the usage of the Library please see the service guide.
