Clinical and basic research is conducted in the fields of, anesthesia, intensive care, and pain management with the aim to improve the quality of care.
Research into the mechanism of post-operative acute pain.
With animal models, research is conducted into the mechanism of post-operative hyperalgesia, and methods of control and prevention. We have the goal to use newly acquired knowledge in the clinical setting.
Research into acute lung injury and sepsis.
Efforts towards developing new treatments for: severe pneumonia due to gram-negative bacilli, acute lung injury, the disease mechanism of sepsis. In particular we put value on the development of immunity stimulating treatments to counter infections with multi-drug resistant bacteria.
