The final goal of our study is to find a new direction for the treatment of various oxidative stress-associated diseases such as diabetes, hepatitis and neurological disorders. The main focus of our current research is to clarify pathophysiological roles of a novel enzyme NOX1/NADPH oxidase that generates superoxide. We use a variety of approaches including cell biology and gene targeting technologies along with physiology and behavioral pharmacology.
