Bringing in the library is free, If you wish we have 12 lockers that can be deposited temporarily.

Browsing Room

 
Here, users can rest.
sofas and 10 chairs are set up.
 
There are 5 newspapers (Kyoto, Asahi, Yomiuri, Nikkei, Mainichi) for the last 2 weeks.
We also have light readings such as medical booklets, public relations magazines.
 
There are desks in the browsing room, and meetings can be held in small groups.
  

Information search room ※member of KPUM only

 
This facility features personal computers that can be used for online document search.
Here you can access databeses like PubMed or IchushiWeb on the internet.
It has 6 Windows and 1 Mac.
 ・You can browse the materials of the CDs and DVDs.
 ・Software such as WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT can not be used. 
 ・Photocopying is possible, unless prohibited by copylight.
   ※Please purchase a prepaid card (\500, \1,000) at the vending machine in the library.
 
Reservation is unnecessary, but use is limited to KPUM users.
 

Copying Corner

 
Photocopying is possible, unless prohibited by copylight.
Fill in our an "Application form for photocopying literature/material" and submit it to the Library's circultaion counter.  
4 self-service copy machines are installed.

    Please purchase a prepaid card (\500, \1,000) in the vending machine in the library.

We have dedicated terminal for Online Public Access Catalog, one for each floor.
You can search materials held in our university.
On the 1st floor, we also have terminals to network hospital members and graduates.

77 reading seats are available.
There are 2 types of desks (big desk and personal desk).

Private Reading Room ※member of KPUM only(Graduate Student and above)

 
These private rooms(5 rooms) can be used for academic research.
The size is approximately 5 square meters.We have desk, chair, clothes hook and electric stand.
It is the faculty and staff of our university and graduate students.
Undergraduate students are not eligible for the use of this part of the facility, but 5-6 grades are taking advantage of availability.Please ask at the counter at the applicant.
How to apply
 1.Fill out the personal reading room application form and submit it to the library counter.
 2.Pass the key with the counter.
   ※You can make reservations from the 1st day of the previous
   ※Can be used continuously for up to 5 days.

About 1,700 audio visual software can be played back for indivisuals or study.
DVD/video player 4units(for private viewing)

Software can be borrowed.(Up to 5. Within 1 week)

Seminar Room ※member of KPUM only

The Seminar Room is available for seminars and group studies.

Although it is usually divided into 2 rooms, it is possible to remove the partition and use it as one room.
There are facilities such as Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, white board etc.
How to apply
   1.Fill out the Seminar room application form and submit it to the library counter.
 2.Pass the key with the counter.
   ※Reservations should be made 1week in advance.
 
 

2nd reading room

 
Books and dictionaries, guidelines etc are arranged on the shelf.
It is arranged in order of classification number by Nippon Decimal Classification(NDC).
There are 81 seats of reading seats.
You can also bring your own PC and connect by wireless or wired LAN.
 
 
  
 

3rd reading room 

 
It is a room suitable for self study.
Facing Kawaramachi Street, the Kyoto Prefectural Medical University Hospital will be in front of you.
There are 38 seats of reading seats.
You can also bring your own PC and connect by wireless or wired LAN.

From 2017, as a study room we have extended the opening until 23:00.
We also open Sunday in the daytime from 2018.

Lounge

 
It is a corner to breath.
Please rest tired heads for studying and writing articles.
There are 4 sofas.
 
 

AV Room ※member of KPUM only

  
The AV room can be used for seminars and group studies, etc to be conducted using audiovisual equipment.
Since it goes up to the 2nd floor from the lobby of the library building, we will use it without entering the library.
There are 42 seats.(There is a small table on one person's chair.)
There is a projector, DVD / video player, white board and microphone equipment.

History of modern hospitals in Kyoto,
Materials on primary foreign teachers who were assigned to Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine,

Rare Book Stacks

  
It holds books before the Meiji Era (before 1912) and materials related to this university.
Because it is a closed archive, I will tell it at the counter if there is hope.

It has a two-layer structure, hjgh and low.
Magazines with the old issue year are arranged in order of ABC.
 Western Journals     published before 1989.
 Japanese Journals published before 1980.
 
On the hjgh layer stacks, old classification books, scientific research expenses reports, newspapers (more than two weeks passed since publication), etc. are laid out.
